Caring for Patients with Chronic Pain: Perspectives from Clinicians | Listening Session | March 10, 2020

This listening session is the second part of the series and serves as a complement to the previous session, which focused on the experiences of those living with chronic pain. The purpose of this listening session was to focus on the perspectives and experiences of clinicians caring for patients with chronic, non-cancer pain. Our hope is to better understand the diversity and complexity of chronic pain care across the health system and to elucidate existing practice and system-level gaps in chronic pain management. Living With Chronic Pain: Perspectives from Persons with Lived Experience | Listening Session | February 13, 2020

The Action Collaborative on Countering the U.S. Opioid Epidemic held a web-based listening session that focused on the experiences and perspectives of persons living with chronic, non-cancer pain, including their experiences interacting with and navigating the health system. The listening session featured a guided discussion with a panel of persons with lived experience. Our hope is to better understand the spectrum and diversity of experiences of those living with pain to identify key information needed to address existing practice and system-level gaps in chronic pain management. Tapering Guidance for Opioids: Existing Best Practices and Evidence Standards | Webinar | July 22, 2019

The Action Collaborative on Countering the U.S. Opioid Epidemic hosted a free public webinar on opioid tapering, utilizing experts in the field who discussed current guidance for opioid tapering, how it is applied in practice, and the strength of the evidence behind it. Five panelists presented various patient case scenarios and discussed pain management challenges through patient and caregiver perspectives, in order to inform best practices and identify evidence gaps.
