Leading By Example: Role Modeling Resilience Helps Our Learners and Ourselves

Published in Academic Medicine, the following paper discusses how academic medicine can be a key driver in imbibing a culture of resilience in medicine. The author writes, “on the best days, academic medicine faculty must remember to look for that joy and to express it to learners, and, on the worst, they must demonstrate to learners how to practice self-care and how to create personal resilience.” Resilience as a culture can transform an atmosphere of burnout to that of well-being and can inspire a problem-solving attitude in this movement.
