This webpage outlines themes from a 2017 workshop on medical student well-being and resilience hosted by the Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine. The workshop examined causes of burnout among medical students, current strategies by medical schools to promote well-being, and different needs among a diverse student population. Participants developed high-level recommendations for individuals and processes and outlined themes to guide future work, including faculty and leadership exemplars, human-centered evaluation and assessment, and engaging with technology and data.
