Change Maker Accelerator Applications
The NAM is accepting applications for the next cohort of Change Maker Accelerators from October 9 to December 12, 2025. The request for applications for the 2026 cohort is currently open. We look forward to working with this growing group of leaders to track health workforce well-being at their organizations!

Background
Change Maker Accelerators commit to tracking implementation of the National Plan for Health Workforce Well-Being at their institutions. The NAM will work directly with the selected group to facilitate and measure progress across the National Plan’s priority areas and build a community of practice. The Collaborative intends to spotlight the work of these organizations to inspire others to operationalize the National Plan and accelerate collective efforts toward well-being.
Accelerator Requirements
To be eligible to apply to be an Accelerator, the following qualifications must be met:
- The organization must be engaged in or planning to engage in work that promotes health worker well-being at the system/organizational level. Organizations may have various well-being program structures, but applicants typically hold a leadership position (e.g., director of well-being) and/or are responsible for advancing well-being for a constituency (e.g., physicians, students, faculty, all employees, etc.)
- Applicants should explore the National Plan for Health Workforce Well-Being and consider how their organizations can commit to institutionalizing well-being as a long-term value and other priority areas.
- Applicants must have the capacity and institutional support to provide data on a quarterly basis that tracks their organization’s well-being activities toward improving outcomes (e.g., burnout, engagement, culture).
- Applicants must be able to speak on behalf of their organizations to share insights on strategic planning during closed coaching meetings, as well as to represent their organization’s progress at public convenings.

Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are highly preferred, but not required:
- Applicant and their organization have some experience planning and implementing well-being solutions.
- Ideally, well-being is relevant to the organization’s mission and strategy, but they do not need to be the sole or main focus of the organization.
- Applicant and their organization have experience and/or structures to support cross-departmental and interdisciplinary collaboration to onboard support staff and effective partners.
- Applicant and their organization have the capacity to effectively communicate with their leadership, as well as their organization’s staff.
Accelerator Expectations
The NAM expects that Accelerators will:
- Regularly contribute organization-level data about the progress of their well-being portfolios, using a secure dashboard platform provided by the NAM. Training and technical support will be provided by NAM staff.
- Attend and actively engage in virtual monthly coaching sessions and periodic Joint Learning Sessions to the best of their abilities. [Coaching sessions are candid, small group discussions facilitated by experienced well-being leaders (held monthly). Joint Learning Sessions are opportunities for the full cohort to convene for cross-learning on successes and surface shared challenges to their well-being work (held quarterly).]
- Attend and actively engage in Collaborative-wide convenings (~2 hybrid opportunities per year).
- Serve as liaisons between their organizations/communities and the Collaborative to facilitate multi-directional communication and learning.
- Co-develop and implement an action plan to advance their well-being portfolios during the period of participation in a measurable way.
- Provide feedback to program staff for continuous improvement and participate in evaluation activities to assess the NAM’s impact.
NAM’s Commitment to Accelerators
The NAM is committed to co-creating opportunities for Accelerators to:
- Build relationships and form a community of practice for continuous learning, networking, and mutual collaboration & support with fellow Accelerators, Clinician Well-Being Collaborative members, Change Maker community, NAM staff, and other experts/peers committed to advancing health workforce well-being.
- Amplify their organization’s expertise and experience, strengths, needs, and achievements.
- Elevate their organization’s efforts to advancing health workforce well-being.
- Access relationships and tools to advance or scale evidence-based solutions to improve well-being outcomes at the local level.
- Contribute data and on-the-ground experiences that influence the direction and outcomes of the Clinician Well-Being Collaborative.
- Discuss exclusive data and develop publications that strengthen the evidence base for interventions – ultimately helping to inform policy, funding, research, capacity building, and national initiatives.
