When the Bully Is a Doctor

The author reflects on his own experiences as a medical student during his two months on the surgery service, and his supervisor’s intimidating and tyrannical behavior. The work environment of a profession built around sick or dying patients need not be exacerbated by colleagues and superiors who bully and castigate others for being weak.
