The impact of social work environment, teamwork characteristics, burnout, and personal factors upon intent to leave among European nurses
The following study aims to clarify how social work environment, teamwork characteristics, burnout, and personal factors are associated with nurses’ intent to leave. The sample is comprised of 28,561 hopsital-based nurses from 10 European countries. Outcomes indicate that there are some differences regarding intent to leave across the European countries, depending on working conditions and economic situations. Quality of teamwork, interpersonal relationships, career development possibilities, uncertainty regarding treatment, and influence at work are associated with nurses’ decision to leave the profession across Europe, notwithstanding some country-specific outcomes
