Stress Trauma and Resilience (STAR) Program

The emotional healing of the health care process is too often overlooked. Ohio State University Medical Center’s Stress Trauma and Resilience (STAR) Program offers mental and psychological support to patients and clinicians during or after traumatic care. The STAR program was created to work with people who experience difficult life events on a day-to-day basis. The STAR program offers a variety of supportive programs for people who have suffered trauma as well as community members who work in health care, public safety, the military and similar high-stress professions. STAR also serves as a resource for psychological trauma education and training. STAR supports innovative, interdisciplinary research focused on the causes, biological and behavioral markers, prevention and treatment approaches related to psychological trauma.
