In this Perspective article published in the New England Journal of Medicine, the Dean for Medical Education at the Icahn School of Medicine exposes how the suicide of a medical student not only altered the atmosphere at their school in the following months, but also continues to re-frame the culture of undergraduate and graduate medical education around the nation.
