In the face of extreme weather events, air pollution, degrading water quality, and a changing environment, opportunities to protect health from the effects of climate change are vital.
The Communicating About Climate Change and Health pillar of the Grand Challenge on Climate Change, Human Health, and Equity is developing an online resource hub to equip health professionals and others to better understand the connection between a changing climate and health outcomes.
This hub is being designed to help individuals find the information they need and provide tips and opportunities for them to take action that will help protect their health, their loved ones’ well-being, and the broader community.
The NAM hosted a public event on Wednesday, May 29, 2:30-3:45 PM ET, to collect feedback on the proposed resource hub, and how to make it a valuable tool. This public session was open to anyone who is interested in the connection between climate change and health.
The collected comments will help shape the final design of the resource hub and ensure it meets the project’s goals of being informative, accessible, and user-friendly. The resource hub is anticipated to launch in 2025 – sign up to receive NAM climate and health updates in the meantime.
