“You Can’t Feel Healthier than Your Caregiver” – The Ripple Effect of Trust and Empathy for Patients and Health Care Staff, Cultivated through Cultural Activities
The following article, published in the Journal of Nursing and Care, explores the impact of cultural activities within a health care system, to help prevent burnout. The study conducted interventions with different cultural activities in four primary health care settings during three months, and held focus group interviews with patients, cultural producers, and health care nurses. Results showed that cultural activities and incorporation of the arts into health care created a sense of belong and equality among participants, and resulted in an overall more trustful and emphatic environment.
