The Relationship Between Job Satisfaction and Health: A Meta-Analysis

The following meta-analysis review examines the relationship between job satisfaction and health. The data finds associations between job satisfaction and mental/psychological problems, specifically strong correlations with burnout, self-esteem, depression, and anxiety. The findings suggest that job satisfaction level influences the health of workers and advises organisations to develop stress management policies and identify and eradicate work practices that cause most job dissatisfaction. Furthermore, occupational health clinicians are suggested to counsel employees with diagnoses of psychological problems to reassess their work and help them gain greater satisfaction.
