The Effects of Social Support Training and Stress Inoculation Training on Burnout in Nurses
The following study compares the effectiveness of social support training, stress inoculation training, and a control group in reducing burnout and improving work environment relationships in nurses. Social support involved training in the development and utilization of the nurses available. Work environment social support network and stress inoculation involved training in assessing stressors and cognitive appraisals of the stressors. Both experimental groups experienced reduced burnout and improved work relationships with their peers and supervisors. Stress inoculation training was found to be more effective in improving work relationships
