The following article, published in Holistic Nursing Practice, describes the implementation of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, a stress-reduction program, in a hospital system. This article is the first in a series of three articles providing qualitative and quantitative data on the effects of the Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction program in nurses. The authors find that the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction might serve as a useful tool for nurses to lower burnout and improve well-being.
