The following longitudinal, interventional study evaluates effects of an intensive communication strategy on burnout syndrome among intensive care unit caregivers. Significant improvements in all three components of the burnout and significant decreases in prevalence of depression symptoms were found. Specifically, the estimated risk reduction was approximately 60%.
