Stress and Burnout in Residents: Impact of Mindfulness-Based Resilience Training

This prospective study assesses the impact of a mindfulness-based resilience intervention on stress and burnout among family medicine, psychiatry, and anesthesia residents. At baseline, females were found to have higher DASS scores and both genders had abnormal ranges of exhaustion and disengagement. The intervention significantly reduced DASS scores for females, 1st and 2nd year residents, and those who perceived higher stress, suggesting those groups as target populations for mindfulness-based resilience interventions.
