Resilience Training and Physician Well-Being

The following is a response to Sood et al., who developed a resilience training program that presumably arises from “multiple demands and expectations.” While Poses et al. are in agreement, they posit the need for more focus on external stressors faced by physicians. The authors suggest and support the belief that physicians’ core values are threatened by a dysfunctional health care system and misalignment of values between leadership and workforce. Thus, the article exhorts an effort to counter stressors in leadership directly rather than promoting resiliency training.
