Predictors of Well-Being in Resident Physicians: A Descriptive and Psychometric Study

Published in Journal of Graduate Medical Education, the following psychometric study characterizes predictors of resident well-being and assesses personal and work-related burnout, work dissatisfaction, and on-call nutritional needs and sleep needs. Over half of the residents were found to have poor mental well-being, including significant differences in burnout between men and women The significant predictors found of well-being were personal burnout and work dissatisfaction not work-related burnout.
