Physician Well-Being: Prevalence of Burnout and Associated Risk Factors in a Tertiary Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

This study, published in Annals of Saudi Medicine, determines socio-demographic, specialty, and work factors associated with physician burnout in a tertiary hospital in Saudi Arabia. The data finds that burnout is associated with age, female gender, marital status, years in practice, sleep deprivation, presence of back pain, and a negative work-life balance. Of importance is the higher-than-estimates prevalence of burnout, suggesting an impetus to address the associated factors.
