Published in MEDSURG Nursing, the following paper discusses nurses’ ethical obligation to prevent and manage medical errors. Ethical theories for justification of stance are provided along with suggestions for disclosing errors to patients. The paper also includes both individual and organizational strategies to comply with ethical imperative to protect patients from harm.
