Passage Meditation Reduces Perceived Stress in Health Professionals: A Randomized, Controlled Trial

In this study, Oman et al. evaluate an 8-week, 2-hr per week training for clinicians using nonsectarian, spiritually based self-management tools based on passage meditation. The results find beneficial treatment effects in stress and mental health; moreover, effects on stress were mediated by adherence to practices. Stress reductions were sustained at a 19-week follow-up assessment. Overall, the authors posit that the program reduces stress and may enhance mental health.
