More Strategies are Needed to Promote Well-Being Among Doctors, Conference Hears

This article highlights themes from the 2012 International Conference on Physician Health in Montreal, which focused on the translation of existing research evidence of physician stress into action and identifying what can make a difference to treatment and prevention. Conference delegates were encouraged to share experiences and expertise, learn insights from one another, and develop personal action plans to improve their health and resilience. A theme that emerged in the culture of healthcare is the conceptual evolution from treating wellness to promoting wellness, thereby reducing stigma and barriers physicians face.
