This article, published in Journal of Patient Safety, advocates for more funding of investigations examining physician well-being; thus, funders must extend the scope of current grant opportunities by broadening the scope of patient safety and its relationship to physician health opportunities. Furthermore, collaborative partnerships with stakeholders can be formed so that physician licensing fees may be redistributed to support physician health research. Physicians as well as millions of patients receiving care each year will benefit from this.
