Health and Well-Being among Physicians

The purpose of this study, published in International Medicine Journal, is to examine the prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors and adherence to international preventive screening programs among physicians. With high rates of smoking, obesity, hypertension, physical inactivity and a general lack of adherence to age-specified preventative screening measures (colonoscopy, postate-specific antigen testing, digital rectal examination), male and female physicians were shown to have a high prevalence of behavioral risk factors for cardiovascular disease and cancer.
