The following article describes one physician’s personal experience as a medical student and later, a member of a medical school’s admission committee, and her witness of gender discrimination in all levels of the medical fields. The author explores factors that cause discrimination against women in this field, such as childcare. The author also discusses the added quality that women physicians bring to the physician-patient interactions, which adds substantial value to medical care.
