Exploring the impact of resilience, self-efficacy, optimism and organizational resources on work engagement

This research study, published in Work, examines the relationship between personal and organizational resources as essential predictors for work engagement of German health care professionals. Specifically, the influence of physicians’ personal strengths (i.e. resilience, optimism), socioeconomic factors, and work-related factors on work engagement was evaluated. The article suggests using the analysis to develop work engaging job conditions, thereby ensuring higher quality health care to patients.
