Efficacy of a Communication and Stress Management Training on Medical Residents’ Self-Efficacy, Stress to Communicate and Burnout: A Randomized Controlled Study

The following longitudinal randomized controlled study investigates efficacy of a communication and stress management skills training programme among medical residents. Results showed a significant increase in self-efficacy and decrease in stress to communicate with no changes in burnout. The authors and findings promote the incorporation of such a programme in medical curricula. Further research associating person-directed and organization-directed interventions with resident burnout is advised.
