Burnout, Psychological Skills, and Empathy: Balint Training in Obstetrics and Gynecology Residents

The following prospective educational study in Journal of Graduate Medical Education, assesses the effect of Balint training on burnout, behavioral-medicine skills, and empathy among obstetrics and gynecology residents. The results indicate that burnout and empathy remain unchanged, while interest and confidence in handling psychological aspects of patient care skills improved 12 months after introduction of Balint training.
