Beyond Self-Report in the Study of Hedonic and Eudaimonic Well-Being: Correlations with Acquaintance Reports, Clinician Judgments and Directly Observed Social Behavior

Individuals differ in their overall levels of psychological health and well-being. This study provides additional evidence of overlap between hedonic and eudaimonic constructs through examination of social reputation, clinician judgments, and observed social behaviors. Future research is desperately needed that uses outcomes beyond self-report to determine how personality and well-being influence each other.
