A Systematic Review of the Impact of Physicians’ Occupational Well-Being on the Quality of Patient Care

Published in International Journal of Behavioral Medicine, this comprehensive review studies the effect of physicians’ occupational well-being on quality of care. Most studies employed an observational design, were of average quality, and reported positive well-being as associated with patient satisfaction, adherence to treatment, and interpersonal aspects of patient care. However, the review finds conflicting findings for association with technical aspects of patient care. The insights are aimed to guide policies.
