A Survey of US Physicians and Their Partners Regarding the Impact of Work-Home Conflict

The following study from the Journal of General Internal Medicine analyzed factors associated with work-home conflicts for physicians and their employed partners. The researchers surveyed physicians from all specialty disciplines. The study found that work-home conflicts within the previous 3 weeks were commonly experienced by physicians and their employed partners. Greater work hours for physicians and their employed partners were independently associated with work-home conflicts. Physicians and partners who had experienced recent work-home conflicts were more likely to have symptoms of burnout.
