Published in Medical Education, this study determines whether mindfulness reduces the level of stress experienced by senior medical students. With a high prevalence of stress in medical students and evidenced adverse effects on student and patient health, PSS and DASS scores reveal mindfulness practice reduces stress and anxiety in senior medical students. The authors address that this simple, self-administered, evidence-based intervention now exists to manage stress in this at-risk population and advise widespread use.
