A Mindfulness Intervention for Residents: Relevance for Pediatricians

The following article in Pediatric Annals reports on the feasibility and impact of a brief mindfulness intervention using a free smartphone application among residents. Following a 10-day program in mindfulness meditation and survey, the results find that lack of time and knowledge were the top two barriers to regular meditation practice. Further research on the utility of mindfulness in trainees and practicing pediatricians is advised.
