Ohio State University (OSU) is making great strides in sustainability through resource management and environmental stewardship. In 2023, OSU achieved a 31% reduction in carbon emissions from a 2015 baseline. OSU aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, increase building energy efficiency by 25% and reach zero waste by 2025 by diverting 90% of waste away from landfills. OSU also purchased a long-term wind power agreement and renewable energy certificates, which will offset the university’s electricity on nearly all campuses.
