BECAN is a global multidisciplinary “action tank” dedicated to understanding and addressing the impact of climate change on brain health. Established in April 2024, BECAN is a dynamic consortium of neuroscientists, neurologists, psychologists, epidemiologists, environmental scientists, public policy experts, and community advocates. BECAN’s mission focuses on enhancing understanding of climate change’s impacts on neurological and mental health, raising awareness across all societal levels, driving actionable strategies for resilience, and influencing global and local policies to prioritize brain health. With over 100 members from 30+ countries, BECAN”s vision is a brain-healthy world where robust scientific insights inform policies and foster resilient communities ready to address the health challenges of a changing climate.
