Planned Gifts

Your planned gift to the NAM, often in the form of a simple bequest, represents your current commitment to the long-term future of health and health care. We encourage you to explore the academies’ planned giving program today.

Workplace Giving

Combined Federal Campaign (CFC): Federal employees can support the NAM through the CFC from September 1 until December 15 every year. Simply enter CFC #39601 on your pledge card and return it to your campaign coordinator. We are proud to be a part of this meaningful workplace giving campaign. Learn more about the CFC.

Matching Gifts: Did you know that your gift may be eligible for matching dollars if a corporation or foundation with a matching gifts program employs you or a family member? This is an easy way to double your donation. Please contact the administrator of your matching gifts program to find out the steps you need to take in order to have your gift matched.

Stock Gifts

A gift of long-term appreciated stock (more than 1 year) allows you to avoid capital gains tax. When itemizing your deductions, you can deduct the fair market value of the stock. If you choose this option, please complete this form and contact Julie Ische, Director of Development, at (202) 334-2431 so that we can accurately credit your contribution.

Tax-Exempt Status

The academies are tax exempt under a federal charter granted to the National Academy of Sciences. Gifts and grants to the National Academy of Medicine are tax-deductible. The NAM proudly adheres to a Donor’s Bill of Rights, allowing you to have complete confidence that as a donor to the NAM your wishes will always be respected.
