The ASEAN Centre for Climate Change will be set up and housed at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam. The new centre will address climate change challenges including health impacts and mitigation, and support researchers in the region for effective collaboration.
The ASEAN Centre for Climate Change is leading the ASEAN Climate Changer and Energy Project, a 34-month long project funded by the Norwegian Government under the Norwegian-ASEAN Regional Integration Programme (NARIP). The project will carry out analyses on existing energy and climate policies, provide recommendations and aid ASEAN member states in shaping policies on a national level.
The Universiti Brunei Darussalam also has developed a sustainability masterplan depicting various sustainability research initiatives.
