Prevalence of Burnout in Board Certified Family Physicians

Published in the Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine, the following study sought to assess the prevalence of burnout among board-certified family physicians. The researchers administered the Mini-Z burnout survey to a subset of practicing family physicians applying to take the American Board of Family Medicine 2016 Family Medicine Certification Examination. The study results suggest that the prevalence of burnout among board-certified family physicians may be lower than previously reported for family physicians in general, with younger family physicians and women being at particular risk.
